Testing and commissioning
Testing and commissioning

Testing and commissioning are two vital processes involved in the electrical industry. Both of them need to be performed on installations to make sure that they are safe and meet the well-designed requirements. Commissioning is the systematic method in which a piece of equipment, facility, or system is tested to verify that it operates as per the design intent and owner’s functional needs. Whereas testing results are to be recorded and mentioned in operation and maintenance manuals, which helps in keeping up a reliable record of all tests undertaken.

Earlier, the main focus of testing and commissioning was on HVAC systems. However, with the need for increased electrical system reliability and complexity, many people now understand the significance and advantages of testing and commissioning on-site electrical systems. Our expert crew ensures to perform testing and commissioning on the entire installation before final placing in service. If you want reliable testing and commissioning services, ensure to connect with us as we are well-equipped and updated with the current market standards.

Transformer Testing

The final task of installation is done after successfully testing and commissioning a transformer. It should be subjected to the final performance test as intended for all the equipment under expert supervision. Every type of transformer needs to undergo a specific regimen of suggested tests. We manage to conduct winding and drying out testing diligently to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of the transformer. The current ratio test is performed to check the transformer bushing and auxiliaries for the safety of devices. Even the oil that offers insulation and cooling features to a transform should be tested before it is energized. We ensure to do an oil testing and filtering process testing to determine the condition of the insulation.

Substation Equipments

For utility and functioning, substation equipment testing is vital, and it also promotes and maintains safety. A set of test applications cover various testing and commissioning processes relying on the test to be applied on a single device or the entire substation. The bus bar includes temperature rise test, rated short-time current test, HV test, power frequency voltage withstand test, impulse testing, and vibration testing are some of the primary tests performed on substation equipment.

Earth resistance measurement is done to measure and confirm the earth’s resistance between the electrode and earth. Substation grid earthing is an electrical connection to the earth with horizontal buried conductors, which ensures safety to employees in substations against electrical shocks. Soil resistivity to measure the soil resists or conducts electric current for substations and High-voltage direct current transmission systems.

Isolar testing includes a temperature resistance test that is performed to check the thermal behaviour of the circuit breakers. A short circuit test is done on the high-voltage side of the transformer when the low voltage or the secondary side is short-circuited. Medium and high voltage switching devices need three-phase making and breaking tests. Most of these tests are conducted employing synthetic circuits.

Panel Switchgear

Circuit breaker testing also is widely known as trip profiling. It is employed to test both the performance of single switching mechanisms and the duration of the overall tripping system. The relay is used to isolate the high power circuit, assisting to safeguard the lower power circuit. It offers a small electromagnetic coil for the logic circuit to manage the operations, which is why both coil and solid-state relays should be tested. Our CT & PT testing sets are completely based on low frequency and variable frequency processes, which result in a great reduction in weight. It is essential to test the temperature, condition, and capacity of batteries as high temperature or poor condition can reduce the battery life. These simple testing will help you make the right decision to replace or repair the equipment or devices.

Transmission line & Cable

Cable fault locating can be quite difficult even though there are numerous fault location methods and tools to assist in addressing the faults with underground cables. The challenges associated with underground cable fault location can be reduced notably by consulting our experts. We can assist in correcting and making improvements in illuminating the results. The transmission line should be tested frequently to see if it needs to be changed or repaired due to the loading or dropping of power.
