Ajla Tomljanovic beat Serena Williams in the US. Farewell

Serena Williams is the kind of person who doesn't want to go quietly.

She doesn't want this match, this trip to the U.S. Open, or this amazing career of hers to end.

The 23-time Grand Slam winner saved five match points but couldn't do more. Her U.S. Open run ended.

She turns 41 this month, and she recently told the world that she is ready to "evolve" away from her playing days.

When questioned on the court if she might reconsider her decision to leave, Williams responded, "I don't think so, but everything is possible."

On Friday, she played with her racket and showed grit and great serving, but it wasn't perfect.

At one point in the second set, Williams' feet got tangled, and she fell to the ground, dropping her racket.
